Students at Stratford School Academy have been working extra hard this week to create their very own poppy installation and commemorate Remembrance Day on Thursday 11th November.

Students across all year groups joined forces and stayed after school to create the poppies made from recycled plastic bottles. The simple yet beautiful idea was a great way to mark the occasion in an environmentally conscious way.

The work was inspired by the Tower of London’s public art installation ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’ which was installed to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War back in 2014.

We hope that the installations at our Grosvenor Road and Upton Lane school sites, provide a beautiful focal point for residents to commemorate Remembrance Day and remember those who lost their lives fighting for our country.
