Although it’s often amazing and rewarding to watch your children grow up and to help them learn to be independent, it can also be really hard work. At SSA, we recognise how challenging parenting can be, but we also want you to know that you’re not alone.

Family Hubs are designed to offer early support to children, young people and families, building upon the existing Early Help offer, and acting as a ‘one stop shop’ for general advice and guidance on a range of needs and services. Families can access various support including health services youth services, parenting and relationship support and much, much more!

Young minds

First stop website if you are concerned about a young person’s mental or emotional health. There are fact sheets for parents and for young people on issues such as anxiety, eating problems, anger issues and self-esteem. Includes a parent telephone helpline.

Newham Parent Forum (SEND services)

Newham Parent Forum (NPF) is a voluntary group of parents and carers of children and young people (0-25) with special/additional needs and disabilities (SEND) living in the London Borough of Newham. We provide an opportunity for parents and carers to express their views and input into the planning and delivery of SEND services
