This month we will be focussing on the History of the LGBTQ+ Community. We will be posting daily facts that are associated with people and communities that are part of a minority sexuality or gender identity.  We hope you learn something that you didn’t know before about LGBTQ+ History!

Changing Employment Laws

There have been a huge number of laws created to prevent discrimination in workplaces.  It is now illegal to discriminate against anyone on grounds of gender or sexuality.  The Equality Act of 2010 specifically mentions the rights of LGBTQ+ employees.

Companies can now even win awards for creating inclusive workplaces that allow people from any community or identity to feel that they can prosper in the workplace.  Many well known employers have won these awards, including Newham Council, most retailers and most firms based in the City of London.
