This month we will be focussing on the History of the LGBTQ+ Community. We will be posting daily facts that are associated with people and communities that are part of a minority sexuality or gender identity.  We hope you learn something that you didn’t know before about LGBTQ+ History!

Which countires are the most progressive for LGBTQ+ rights?

So far in LGBTQ+ History Month we have learnt about the history of changing laws in UK.  Before we move on to looking at specific people who identify as LGBTQ+, how does the UK rank in the world for tolerance and acceptance?

The UK is officially 5th in the world!  This ranking was measured by considering the laws that protect the rights of LGBTQ+ people, the behaviour of businesses and services and how easily LGBTQ+ can access government services without discrimination.  This means that the UK is considered one of the most friendly places to move to or visit for members of the LGBTQ+ community.

There are no laws in the UK that suggest it is OK to discriminate on any grounds.
