KS3 Students Shine at Annual Poetry Slam Event

On Thursday, May 1, the English Department hosted an electrifying Poetry Slam event at GR that showcased the incredible talents of students from KS3. The event attracted a lively audience, eager to witness powerful performances that celebrated creativity, expression, and the art of spoken word.

Students passionately recited original poems on topics ranging from personal experiences and societal issues to whimsical fantasies, captivating the hearts and minds of the audience. The evening was a testament to the vibrant literary culture fostered by the English Department, emphasising the importance of expression and the power of words.

The competition was fierce, with a diverse range of performances that left judges and spectators alike in awe. After much deliberation, the winners were announced:

1st Place: Humza M, Eesa M, and Roksolana O
2nd Place: Inayah I, Triya P, and Daria L
3rd Place: Dhavi V, Grace O, and Tabarek D

The triumphant teams delivered exceptional performances, combining lyrical prowess with heartfelt emotion, earning them recognition and accolades for their outstanding contributions to the art of poetry.
