Enrichment Day 3!

On Tuesday 8th July, Stratford School Academy hosted a vibrant Enrichment Day, offering students across all year groups a diverse array of experiences designed to broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of the world around them.

Year 7: Cultivating Empathy and Curiosity

  • 7UL – Social Action with First Give
    Students collaborated with the inspiring team at First Give, delving into pressing social issues and exploring avenues for community engagement. This initiative empowered students to think critically about societal challenges and consider their roles in driving positive change.

  • 7GR – Cultural Exploration in London
    Embarking on a journey through some of London's renowned museums, students immersed themselves in the city's rich tapestry of history and culture. This hands-on experience complemented their classroom learning, bringing historical narratives to life.

Year 8: Bridging Past and Present

  • 8GR – Jack the Ripper Walking Tour
    Venturing into the heart of Victorian London, students participated in a guided tour tracing the infamous Jack the Ripper case. This excursion provided a tangible connection to their studies on crime and punishment, offering insights into historical investigative methods and societal conditions of the era.

  • 8UL – Interfaith Understanding
    Through visits to various places of worship, students gained firsthand exposure to diverse religious practices and beliefs. This experience enriched their Religious Education curriculum, fostering respect and appreciation for different faith traditions.

Year 9: Building Financial Acumen

Students engaged in focused sessions on financial literacy, equipping them with essential life skills. Topics covered included budgeting, saving, and understanding financial responsibilities, laying a foundation for informed and responsible financial decision-making in the future.

Year 10: Navigating Personal Development

Participating in comprehensive Sex and Relationships Education (SRE) sessions, students explored topics related to personal well-being, relationships, and health. These discussions aimed to support their personal development, encouraging informed choices and fostering a deeper understanding of themselves and others.
