Enrichment Day 1
Whole School
Students across Years 7 to 11 have recently taken part in a wide range of engaging and educational experiences, designed to enrich learning beyond the classroom and support their personal development.
Year 7 students began their journey with a memorable trip to the Stratford Theatre, where they watched the lively pantomime Mama Goose. The visit introduced them to the magic of live performance and helped them develop an appreciation for theatre, storytelling and audience engagement.
Year 8 students turned their focus to real-world, life-saving skills as they took part in first aid training led by external professionals. During the sessions, students learned how to respond confidently in emergency situations, gaining practical knowledge and a greater sense of responsibility.
Important topics were explored in Year 9, where external specialists led workshops on understanding gender, power and respect. These sessions encouraged open discussion around healthy relationships, consent and equality, helping students to reflect on key social issues in a thoughtful and mature way.
Year 10 students challenged themselves in the Speak Out Challenge, a programme that pushes young people to develop confidence in public speaking. Through preparation and presentation, students strengthened their communication skills, learning how to express their ideas clearly and with conviction.
Finally, Year 11 students looked to their futures by attending a careers fair which welcomed a range of external colleges, sixth forms and apprenticeship providers. This provided them with valuable insight into their post-16 options. In addition, students spent time working on and completing their post-16 applications, taking important steps towards their next stage of education or training.
These enriching experiences reflect the school’s ongoing commitment to supporting students both academically and personally, ensuring they are well-prepared for life beyond the classroom.
