Year 8 Enjoy French Theatre Experience

On Friday 6th February, all Year 8 students had the exciting opportunity to attend a live French/English theatre performance titled “Shipwrecked en France”, organised by our French Department. The play took place in the Assembly Hall during Period 1 for UL and Period 5 for GR.

The performance was thoroughly enjoyed by all students and provided a fantastic opportunity to experience French in a fun, interactive, and engaging way. Several students showed great confidence by volunteering to come up on stage and participate in the performance.

Students were also fully engaged throughout, eagerly helping to translate words from English into French when prompted by the actors. This interactive element helped to reinforce their learning and encouraged them to use their language skills in a real-life context.

Experiences like this play an important role in bringing language learning to life, helping students build confidence, improve their listening skills, and develop a greater appreciation for French language and culture.
