Some of our Year 10 students enjoyed an exciting and inspiring visit to New Scientist Live at ExCeL London, where they had the opportunity to explore the latest scientific discoveries, experience cutting-edge technology and discover how science is shaping the world around us.

New Scientist Live is a major science festival that brings together leading scientists, researchers and innovators to share their knowledge and showcase the incredible possibilities of science. The event offers students the chance to go beyond the classroom and engage with science through interactive exhibits, live demonstrations and inspiring talks.

Throughout the visit, students had the opportunity to discover a wide range of scientific topics, from robotics, artificial intelligence and space exploration to genetics, healthcare and sustainable energy. The event also highlighted the many exciting career opportunities available in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

For our Year 10 students, the experience provided a valuable opportunity to see how the scientific concepts they study in lessons are applied in the real world. Meeting experts, exploring new technologies and learning about groundbreaking research helped bring their classroom learning to life and encouraged them to think about the role they could play in shaping the future.

The visit also supported students in considering their future options, showcasing the diverse pathways available to those interested in pursuing careers in science and related fields.

We are incredibly proud of our students for taking part in this enriching experience. Opportunities like this help nurture curiosity, inspire ambition and demonstrate that science is not just a subject studied in school, but a powerful tool for understanding and changing the world.

We hope the visit has sparked new interests and encouraged our students to continue asking questions, exploring new ideas and considering the exciting possibilities that a future in science could bring.
